OK, you know where the holes in the top rails are for tie downs and such, well if you look in there, there is a small metal plate blocking the hole, I guess to set the depth of a post. I had to remove that welded in plate on the drivers side to run my CB wire up through, this isn't going to drastically weaken the bed at that corner or something stupid is it? Basically what I am asking, is it worth it to bend it back up and tack weld it back in place now that I have my wire ran.

I would just tack it back in place. It couldn't hurt ... right? Replacing the bottom will increase the strength of the box. However, you won't need that if the cable blocks the hole. Just tack it together and forget about it.

I used a 3/4 drill bit i think and drilled out the hole bigger the rapped the cable with electrical tape to protect it.
