jmg343 07-10-2006, 03:12 AM something is definitely wrong...cant tell you what but its something. are you certain the boost stick is plugged in to the proper location? i doubt the boost stick is the problem, but maybe get a different one and see if the problem still exists. i havent heard of anything like this with the boost stick yet.
Fingers 07-10-2006, 11:31 AM Two most common errors with BS:
Using boost readings generated from the ECM (Edge Attitude and friends)
Plugging the connectors in upside down.
You are taking the boost reading with a dedicated tap. So that should be good. Now check the connections please. The wire colors should line up on the harnesses. That is, block to black and so on. On the MAP sensor, the tab should be UP.
Lastly, if all else fails, contact JK. We will work through it.
Is there a CA boost stick or are the newer ones working with CA trucks?
Fingers 07-10-2006, 05:17 PM All BS being produced are the same. Rev 1.04
Sorry for the thread hijack...How do you determine which version you have? I believe I bought mine late last year and spoke to you about the issues we were having.
Fingers 07-10-2006, 05:29 PM Clearly marked on the BS Rev 1.04.
Twistedsteel 07-10-2006, 05:47 PM I have the boost stick but have not installed it yet. I bought it a while back and I don't see any #'s on it. I have a Cal. truck, will I have any problems with mine?

stevebos 07-10-2006, 05:59 PM Plugging the connectors in upside down.
:exactly:
Look carefully at the male contacts in the connector; they are offset vertically from center very slightly. My Boost Stick has functioned perfectly since installed.
It's takes a little patience to get to, but well worth the effort! :)
Fingers 07-10-2006, 06:03 PM The worst it will do is set codes. Nothing permanent. And then only on a very small number of CA trucks at that.
David 07-10-2006, 07:40 PM Wow:cool2:
What a great responce!!!!
I did not look at clolors but i made shure the locks were linded up,so they would lock in place!!!!
I did notice that when i first started it took a bout 2 seconds for boost to come in but that is not happening now!!!!
I am shure it can be worked out ,i just wish i had an extension.
I don't know who you guys get those plugs from but G M wanted $38 for just that one plug.
O hhhh well you know the old saying
It's Not What You Know It's Who You Know!!!!!!!!!

David:
You may already know this...
It's alot easier to get to the Boost Stick connectors if you remove the a/c compressor. It's easy; remove serpentine belt, disconnect (2) electrical plugs, remove (4) bolts, lift compressor and set on top of alternator.:thumb:
David 07-22-2006, 11:46 PM Yes,
That is what i did, don't see how you could ddo it with out taking it off.
Thanks
David:exactly: :exactly:
Donnie 1 07-24-2006, 12:35 AM did mine in 20 min. without taking off the a/c
the hardest part was routing the wires.
jason d 08-03-2006, 11:24 PM i just pluged mine into map works.
any thing wrong with that.
Kennedy 08-04-2006, 11:06 AM If you plugged into anything other than the boost sensor pictured in my instructions, it is wrong. The MAP sensor under the coolant hot pipe is not the correct place. The boost sendor in the valley is teh correct place.
David 08-07-2006, 05:48 PM wELL I GOT IT FIXED!!!!!!
i PULLED THE AC OFF AND CHECKED THE WIRES.
tHEN I GOT AND IDEA ,PUT AIR PRESSURE ON GAGE LINE .
i FOUND TWO HOLES , THAT WILL DAMPEN YOUR DAY.
i FIXED THE TWO HOLES AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
i NOW GET28 PSI ON THE TOP AND AT 70MPH I HAVE 5 PSI .
NOTHING WRONG WITH THE b s at all.
I don't stomp on the old girl a lot so i did not notice the change in the boost.
Thanks very much for all the help!!!!!

Sounds cool under more boost, eh? :thumb:
SLEEZ 08-08-2006, 06:24 PM I just recently got rid of my Edge EZ and replaced it with the Predator v2.02. I'm getting the same boost #'s as above now without the boost stick.
CAMike 08-18-2006, 10:33 PM I hate it when girls get stepped on!
FATMAX 08-19-2006, 08:21 AM What would happen if it was plugged in to the map sensor?
