I figured Id get some info from a body guy here on this as Duponts web site didnt help. Where in the heck can I find an Imron 5000 paint chip assortment. In metallic colors. No auto parts stores around me sell them. And I need to decide on a color for my body upfitter on a 5500 garbage truck I am buying.
And If you know it sound like a really good paint, but from paint expert point of view is it?

Diesel Dually, All said and done this trucks going to be around $80,000. The extra $380 for metallic paint aint gonna bother me. Ever order a truck and wish you got this, or did that? I have thats why I optioned a loaded truck a loaded body and metallic paint. That way when I finally do get this truck....their will be no I wish I had ordered this or that. I eliminated all of that on the day of down payment.

The articles I saw on Imron state that there are some "high-volume" colors, but that upwards of 5000 custom colors can be made.

This may help you too. Looks like you may be able to order a color selector from here. (look in the list on the right side for colour selector)

I do know of what you speak of...that is why I am still adding onto my truck...no Airhorns, box, nerfbars, pushbar...etc. Good luck with your new rig.

Have you tried any of the "big truck" dealers? [Peterbilt, Kenworth, etc...] They use Imron on most of the big rigs and the dealers or their body shops should have paint chips. When I ordered my Pete they talked me into Imron 6000. It's tough paint but it's hard to paint it without getting 'orange peel' in it. They do make it in metallics and it looks slick...:cool:
