: Horn on locking?

Okay, I sat in the truck last night and programmed the Driver 1 options via the dash (DIC?). These were the options for when the doors lock, what happens when you unlock the doors, etc. (PS - the goodies on this truck made my wife jealous - she drives a BMW and only has about 75% of them!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif)

I selected the option for both (lights and horn) for every option, but the horn never toots when I look or unlock the doors. Is there some trick to this or is this my first warranty issue?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

I guess I can pour through the manual to get this, but I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly last night.....I confirmed the "both" setting this morning but the horn still doen't activate. The lights activate during lock/unlock, and the locks take the appropriate action, but no horn. ALl the other Driver 1 options seem to work as they should. Oh - Yeah, I did lean on the horn once to be sure it COULD toot! I kinda want the horn to verify I've just locked/unlocked the doors.

Also, I have a whooping $2000 "dealer installed alarm" sticker I just found inside my truck. I didn't know I had such a wonderful item <!> until I saw the sticker. Does anyone else have that alarm and what is it? The key fob for my Chev has a Lock, Unlock and Horm icon - nothing else. I had a Python aftermarket alarm on my last truck and really liked it.

You have to press lock twice to get the horn to honk.

Same thing on unlocking I assume? I don't know why that never occured to me; I have a buddy with a Honda and that's how his remote works..........................

I'd check into that alarm thing. I don't have mine set up like that, but I think when I was playing with all the settings when new, the horn would honk on any single press.

It could be that the alarm is hacked into the system to cause interference.

Just a guess. Hope you get all figured out.

It seems to me that mine is set to unlock both doors, but if I hit the button twice to get the horn, and I think the second one arms the alarm as well? when you open it you have to hit it twice or it only unlocks the driver's door.

2 push unlock button: horn twice and all doors unlocked
1 push lock button: no horn lock drivers and all doors
