Is the bracket that comes in the Nicktane/Cat fuel filter kit as sloppy and poorly welded as the PDF intall instructions show? I saw on the Nicktane site that the bracket is CNC made and saw a few pictures of a good looking formed bracket that is not welded on all seams, is this what it looks like?

The instruction pictures were taken (I believe) from an early prototype that Nick made. I have the nicktane kit, and it is a very nicely done bracket. It is not welded. Trust the later pictureshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif, not the ones in the PDF install.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

neverenuf,
the bracket in the instructions was my welded prototype. the bracket included in the kit is one piece, plasma cut, and powdercoated black. there are some pictures on the nicktane.com site that also show images of the new bracket mounted in a truck.

i'm glad.. if it helps, the rest of the ones i welded didn't look as bad. mine was welded and cut a couple times.. maybe one of these days i'll put the other 2 bolts in it and replace it with a good one.. nah.. it works....
