I had the now famous "green Keys" installed today along with Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks. I set them on 5 in front and 4 in rear. WOW . . . what a difference over the stock ride. Got the truck level and it rides great.

Much better ride than the stock setup.

See, just listen to us and you'll be all set! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

BTW... that's the same setup I have.

Oh I believe most, but some of the stuff written is sometimes just speculation by people of what "should" work, rather than actual fact by those like yourself ,who have the setup installed.

I guess my biggest concern was started by some in these forums who suggested using different numbers of shocks and spacers, etc. After measuring and talking to the people at Rancho they indicated the problem is the very short stroke that the front shocks have (about 3"). Some of the shocks suggested by others would not even fit, unless the truck has a lift kit.

I used RS99288 fronts and RS99274 rears which is exactly what Rancho recommends for non-lifted trucks with 9200GVW.

All in all they work very good. I'm still playing with the settings on the shocks and even whether to run air in my rear Air-Lifts or not when I'm not loaded with anything.

I have adjusted the torsion bars to the point where I now know how far I can go to raise the front and not have it stiffen up the ride too much. I'm about 1-1/2 turns away from there right now and like the ride.

I was very happy to get the 4 shocks with shipping for $218 including shipping from Sam's 4x4.

Sounds like changing shocks gives you a better ride.

Do a search "green keys" to find out why they are magic.

Oh' I've read all the opinions about the "magic" green keys, including yours, long ago. One thing for sure is that it did make a definite difference in the ride quality with just changing the keys alone before I changed the shocks out.

Did you ever change the keys in yours before trading it?

You are right about the wagon springs in the Dodge, I drove a new one about a month ago. The "old" Chev felt pretty good after that ride.
