I read where some people use the old motor oil and put a quart or so every fill up to use it up. Anybody heard of this? Any problems with doing so?

I wouldn't dare run old oil through my injection system. It does work but you are introducing metals and acids through high tolerance mechanical systems.

You could probably get by with a older non-high injection system. But....you could always try it!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

I think the guy who was doing it had a P7100 pump. wouldnt the oil filter have taken out any metel of a size big enough to do damage? I would think maybe the oil would give the fuel some added lubricity. Maybe not, I guess things are under some pretty close tolerances in there. I am not sure I would want to try it unless a lot of people had done it and had no problems.
