Has anyone tried to install a Stull Billet Grille in a 04 GMC? So far they have sent me two different ones and they both look wrong. I called the tech line and they tell me to go ahead and cut out my grille and it will fit. Apparently it fits behind the factory chrome grille trim after you remove the gray plastic. I'm not crazy about cutting anything unless I know that the new one will fit. Any previous experiences? Thanks

I have been wanting to put one on my truck, but someone posted it raises the engine temp, I can see 115 degrees out here, but seems like alot of folks use them, waiting for someone who lives in Hot temps to dispell this if possible?

I put one in my '01 Yukon XL and yes you have to cut the "middle" out, but not to the chrome. You cut the black plastic at the point where the bars join the "oval" part. At least that's how I did it.


Mine's a 6.0 liter gasser but I tow a 30-ft travel trailer. I haven't experienced any elevated temperatures.

I have one. I just installed it on my 04 Chevy. I used an airsaw to cut the plastic honeycomb out.


I have also have a bolt over grille that I bought off eBay. It doesn't fit as well, but I'm willing to sell it for cheap.

Have you noticed the Temp running any hotter with the Billet Grill, seems like an Urban Legend at this point!

I have not seen any change in operating temperature after installing the billet grille.

Well, I installed the Stull Grille. I had to cut out most of the black plastic and do a little grinding to make it all work. It looks good, but in hindsight, I wish I would have gone with the Carriage Works grille as that one is flush mounted and this one sits behind the chrome grille surround. I haven't seen any difference in heat yet, but it's been cool and rainy here. I'll post pics when I have a minute.
