: Have I gone too far?

Well sometimes it seems that too much is never enough. After I got my first 6" tip, I needed two. I bought the MBRP cools duals back when they were on sale. Had to wait on a second tip, then my truck was hit by a cell phone talker. I got everything together last week just in time to cruise 100 miles to a business meeting. When I pulled up a couple guys said "nice pipes!". Well wen I came out, one tip was gone and the other was loose. I remote started it, musta scared them off. Well, being it was Thursday night and I was due to leave for NC on Tuesday, I called Dennis at ITP and left him a voice mail. The next morning Dennis called me and shipped me out a new tip overnight. With guys like Dennis at ITP and John at Kennedy Diesel, it make's it easy to get good customer service when it comes to goodies. I got the system all together and the tips welded it time to come down here Tuesday.

I'm still not sure if it's too much, but here's a picture.

They look very nice! But, aren`t they hanging a little too low? It looks to me, like you could raise them 4 inches maybe more.

With that said, They do good good! Makes me want a setup like that. (Higher of course)

This sell you speak of, How much? The regular price scares the life out of me!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

Sorry to here that they needed to be welded onhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Chances are, the one that was stolen will never be used. Can`t you just see a ricer with that tip?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I ran into a 02 2500 CC shorty Green 4x4 today ... Looked pretty slick clean and rolling on some 17-18 chrome .... Big tires but tucked in clean in the wells ...Also he was running ATS duals ... Tucked in very clean up tight and at the bumper if not recessed in a bit ...

Clean...

I rolled up spoke, blocked traffic for a bit ... He had a double pillar gauge and I asked what chip he was running ... I invited him to the DieselPlace ,hope he shows ....

Topic: Have I gone too far?

What I see is ...

A couple homey stereo queen thumping rap phart can muffler pipes sticking out of a Honda in a neighborhood near most anyone ....

Gaudy as it gets IMO ... But rolling thru the hood you'll get big thumbs up no doubt ...

I give it the http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs%20Down.gif .....

I think they either need to be up against the bed or you should bring them straight out the back. Now I think big pipes out the back looks good.

It could be the angle of your shot or they may stick out too much.

I think it will look much better with wider tires too.

Are they true duals?

I dont care for the looks, but I wasnt going to say it......

Now, if you cut holes in the bed and ran them up behind the cab, that would be SWEET.

Nothing Succeeds like excess!........and yes it is a little ostentatious, but since the look can be backed up with its performance.....go for it!

btw i have seen bigger duals on a dodge.....

I think Performance Products offers a set of functional stacks for the bed. If they would integrate mufflers in the stacks I would consider it but it sounds like it's all straight pipe....a little too loud when towing.

The big honking dual tips? A little too much bling for me, but all I've done is polish the stock tip. Up here in MI the chrome only looks good until the first winter so I've given up on the chrome in general.

Having said that, it fits right in on the street, so enjoy it!!!!

Well I like them, but I would not want to spend a fortune for true duals. Is there a cheaper route?

I think it looks good Ox, you do need some bigger meats though, taller and wider would make it look better.

Mike, Gimmie a little break I'm on vacation, well sort of....besides, I now you're just razzing me instead of just spouting off some ridiculous BS.

The washrag in front of the plate wasn't intentional, I just finished washing it up. Dave, you can't weld rags, you have to rivet them on! At lease that how I keep my fuel cap rag onhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

I need to do some tweaking when I get home. I thought about running them strait out the back, but if I ever tow it wouldn't be pretty. I think they actually sit about the same as Diesel 5's, but with the slope of the driveway they look even lower than they are. Ultimately I would like them up close to the body. I'll have to cut the pipe and move the hangers to get them there though. Right now I can't go higher because they're right under the shackles. I might end up going to 5" tips. Some things ya just gotta try. Bigger meats are in store in the future. I figured I'd go ahead and wear the 2k for this trip on the stockers though.

Blinky said it best, to each his own. Freedom is the best thing about this country.

oh, and John, you would know!
