I see Autometer has a dual guage (2inch) mount for just above the mirror, does anyone know the mounting procedure ??
Drilling ?? Velcro ??
I find this location to be the best for viewing & towing at the same time
I don't like the pillar style and I find the overhead consol style somewhat difficult to view, you seem to need to turn your head to view the gauges, which is not cool when towing through places like Vancouver or Seattle

I heard that mount doesnt really sit up there that good. It kind of leaves a gap and doesnt really sit flush with the headliner. The mount that I have (Trippin) in the overhead works out great. The gauges are angled towards you and its just like looking up at the rear view mirror.

Thanks Bodysurfer,
I do like the clean look of the (trippin) overhead gauges, but do you find that you can see the gauges by eye movement only or do you need to move your head away from out the front windsheild to look up ?

Ive only seen one of these guage setups in person and it fit well as far as I could see. Good option as far as guage mounting goes. Go for it and post some pics when your done.

Quick 6 Racing,
The lip of the mount goes up between the headliner and the steel of the roof, the back of the mount has hard super duty plastic velcro on it that attaches to the glass on the blackout of the windsield. That way if you ever need to remove it it just pulls away for service etc. The mount is built at an angle and if you don't sort of orient it prior to installing it it could leave a gap. I have an Attitude mount that uses the same basic mount with an Attitude cut out and it fits tight to the headliner, in fact leaves a small crease when I have removed it to go to the dealer!! If you have any questions call us!

I've done both. The Autometer was definately easier to see, but did not fit that good and limited the mirror adjustment slightly. Setting in Tucson the other day in 114* heat the velcro let go. That was when I ordered the Trippen.

The Trippin mount is above and beyond first class all the way. I am 5'7" and I do have to move my head back just a little to see the full gauge. Most of it can be seen with just eye movement.

I was think about going that route because I use my overhead pocket alot. If it doesn't seem to hold up well in the heat I might have to rethink it. I had to JB weld my Attitude to the base it came with. Tape and our heat don't get along.

I thought about making some small brackets that would sandwich between the console and hold up the overhead mount, but I was afraid it would scar the headliner and show up upon removal.

I'm thinking for more guages not the Attitude. If it leaves an mark I'll live with it. I would also be doing just a dual pod. Maybe I'll have to take a closer look.
