I am thinking of changing to the above from a 7,4 L gasoline engine -

Are there anybody who can offer adwise?

I am talking about an older motorhome fom around 1988 -90.

Fui I am from Denmark and at the present time we pay US$ 6,2 pr. gal. gasoline.

best regard to all,

Well, that would be a project. The 6.5 should give you 12-16 MPG, I'm sure an improvement, but I think you would need to consider that you would have to replace the engine, wiring harnesses, fuel systems and perhaps modify the dash or replace it with a diesel system dash.

I imagine it would be simpler to use a mechanical 6.5 ('92-'93) and eliminate the need for rewiring, but your tranny is probably controlled electronically (4L80E) and a controller (ECM) for both can be found by searching auto salvage yards (US). If your tranny is the older T400 and you use a mechanical 6.5 you won't have so many worries as everything would be mechanical.Edited by: quantum mechanic
