I just picked up my CCSB yesterday and I LOVE this truck. I really wanted an exhaust on it, but I am also loving how quiet it is inside right now. I was thinking of just adding an electronic exhaust cutout. They seem to run about $300, cheaper than an exhaust. That way, I could have the nice quiet when I want it...and have her WIDE OPEN at the flick of a switch. Anyone have any experiences?

Do you have a LLY,Lb7, or LBZ. My LLY with 4" straight pipe(no muffler) is very quiet without any drone.

With a cut-out you lose the benefits of lower egts and mpg while towing, because I wouldn't think you'd want the cut-out open.

avc8130,

We got a guy here a free one to test, do a search for the post been a year or more now. But the bottom line was it was just loud!! And like the others said you want the lowest EGT when you're towing and this won't do that unless you want the loud exhaust at the same time. Take a look at exhaust systems, you don't list what year truck you have but we can get you set up so it'll be quiet based on what you need etc.

I have an LBZ...just got it 3 days ago. I love the truck. I love how quiet it is, but I also hate how quiet it is. That is why I thought about the cutout. It would let me make some noise when I wanted to, but be very quiet when I didnt want to hear it. I was looking under the truck, I could pipe it right in before the cat. Then I could run some tubing back and dump it somewhere, or shoot it out the side. If it isnt a good idea though, I will look into a "real" exhaust.
