With a GM Tech 2 or an aftermarket OBD 2 scanner.

GMCSID, what would an aftermarket OBD 2 scanner be? Is it a performance tuner type? I've read (I think) that some tuner boxes will reset codes. Same type a thing?

I bought my scan tool at a local supply house for $150 USD. It's already paid for itself twice. They wanted $80 just to read the codes at a repair place, so I figured that I'd pay the $150 and have access to a reader for future use. The Tech II is a bt more pricey at $3000 USD.

Hey Rob. Sounds interesting. But I don't know anything about this type of stuff.. Is it a speciffic brand (for say GM only) or a generic (for all makes) type of scanner?
