Hi Guys,
Bought an 06 lbz a couple of months ago. Very nice so far but one problem I have noticed. When the truck is warmed up and I decelerate I notice a vibration coming up through the brake pedal and there is an audible noice as well. Happens when applying the brakes coming down from about 55 to 45. Did a search and found a couple of threads from 05 talking about possible causes but no apparent fixes at that time. Looking for more current info and solutions. Taking the truck into the shop in a couple of days and would like to know if there is a definite fix available before talking to the service manager. Truck is a stock CC D/A. 1600 miles. Problem occurs when not towing but I imagine it would still occur with a load. Thanks in advance.

I noticed the same thing. I had an 01' and never did this. Even did it with the trailer attached. Now have 2500 miles on it. Anyone with ideas?

I have a 2006 LLY and I also have this vibration when decelerating. I can hear the noise coming from the passenger side floorboard. I believe it is coming from the turbo exhaust where it meets the downpipe. I only notice it when braking. I have been told that there is a tube band weight that the dealer can put on for a quick fix. I will also be going to the dealer this week, but I want a better fix than that. I have 3500 miles, and noticed this after about 500 miles. It seems more noticeable as the mileage gets higher.

Hello LLY Owners,

My truck had the same problem.

The solution is in a GM directive, #PIT3457B - Nov 17, 2005. This guidance is labeled as an interim fix and may be a bit difficult to locate.

In short it advises you to install a twin set of exhaust dampeners, part # 10199232, 5 in forward of the catalytic converter.

This action on my 2004 LLY removed 90% of the harmonic transmitted thru the throttle peddle and the floorboard.

If anyone comes up with the perfect weight and distance combination to cancel the entire harmonic I would appreciate the information. A bit of experimentation should result in the solution.

I pull a 28 ft 5th wheel with my LLY. Its home is in the Dallas//FtWorth area. I have twice pulled the unit from home to Glaser NTL Park, Yellow Stone, and many passes in Colorado. It went 6500 mi the last trip with no movement on the oil dipstick. The LLY was flawless….!!!! Its ability to go down steep passes without using the truck brakes was amazing. I have 23,000 mi and no brake wear.

Want a machine….!!!

Love it…

Harold:) :)

Appreciate the input. Dealer could not find any problems and no pertinent tsb's. Oh well... guess I'll just keep driving and see if it gets worse.
