Okay, I don't like to think of myself as a ditherer, but I keep going back and forth on the best exhaust upgrade. Maybe you guys can help me out. I like the way Nick's truck sounds with the Banks and that's the way I'm leaning. BUT, there are cheaper systems and other approaches. I'm going to keep the Cat so I'm looking for a Cat-back setup that will give me a good mix of EGTs and quiet (sorry I'm old and slowing down). Does anyone have a straight piped, cat equipped truck? How loud is it? Does it drone at any speeds? Who has what in an EX Cab SB? How loud? How "droney"? Again, remember, I'm looking for the best quiet combination. I don't want to singe anyone's ear hair. Thanks,

I put a "less expensive" 4" exhaust on mine.It came with a glass pack that drove me nuts.I ended up putting a Magna Flow muffler on & it sounds great now.Bottom line the el cheapo one ended up costing $500 anyway.

Buy the full Banks system and only use the back half if you wanna keep the cat. The back half bolts right up to the flange on the downpipe with the cat.


You could recoup some of your $$$ on the system by selling the Banks SS downpipe you didn't use on ebay...I'll betcha there are plenty of people who would pay for a cat replacement downpipe. Just a thought...
