: stalled on me

Just when I had a few hundred miles into enjoying my latest effort, the '96 K3500 stalls. I have had the opportunity to scan it and the only thing amiss is a lack of closure time on the fuel solenoid, it is a steady 0.0
The F sol fuse has 12v power and a good ground and the PMD has 12v on the pink/blck wire and 5v on the red, good grounds on black. Tried another PMD and didn't see anything but 0.0 on the ctime. I probed the leads at the F sol and the volts never got higher than 1.0v, good ground.

I'm thinking a new PCM but wanted some feedback before spending the money.

Check the fuel solenoid wires from the solenoid connector to the PCM before replacing the PCM. You should have less than 2 ohms on either wire, ideally under 1 ohm.

PCMs are rarely the culprit, need to go through the starts but dies thread for DonStang, I think that one covers the entire gamut of things to check

I'm still messing with it. I got it to throw P0237 fuel metering at the same time I saw 2.67 on the closure time but didn't start yet. It could just be a loose connector but I've been over the lot of them and not much has changed.

On the PMD connector there are 6 wires ABDCEF

A is giving 5v with key on but ~1v cranking
B is 0v as it is going to the F sol
C is grounded with less than .001 ohm
D is 12 volt ignition
E is 5v reference
F is grounded with less than .001 ohms

When you trace the wires back to the PCM A turns into a green wire either pin C3 or D3 on connector C3, not sure havn't gotten that far yet, but what should this signal be?

I would just probe a working truck but I only have the 'burb and I'm not about to mess with it when it's the only thing running.

I found an ECM that may work for $150

Rigger might have an extra ecm in that Cummins conversion rig.
That ain't the truck with the "new" ip?

Hate to overlook anything obvious... does this year have the infamous ignition switch failure? I remember reading about MB(forget his name) tracing similar issue back to that. I say that 'cause I don't know if you meant that you "have" 12 volts on D, or just saying that that's where 12v is supposed to be.

Yes it is. What do you think?

It was really 11.96v but I figured I'd round up and yes it is present with the key on.

QM,
I have a PCM I can loan you, if we can meet on I45 Sunday. Huntsville or Willis or in between.

That would be great! I will call you today.

did you take a close look at the grounds at the tranny dipstick tube stud and the next one forward?

Ok, I fixed it. The problem was the bolt came off the cam gear and stopped turning the IP gear, hence no fuel.

I bought a new bolt as the old one ate the thread, and had to retap the hole in the cam (12 x 1.75 mm) bolted it up and she fired right off. yee ha

Here's a nice pic with the bolt already removed.
