: LBZ destroyed :'-(
Riccas 07-01-2006, 01:31 PM I've read many posts over the past months from fellow LBZ owners. I've only heard of 2 other Dmax owners who have destroyed thier trucks. There was the guy who's truck got stolen and used in a high speed chase and then there was the guy who t-boned someone at arround 70mph. My truck was destroyed from water in a rainstorm because the windows were down. Looks like the LBZ's are a lasting truck. My question is to what i should get now. I was looking into another 2006 LBZ because of how much i loved mine and the horror stories i've heard about the 07's.
Opinions???
2006 vs 2007

If you are gonna get rid of the truck, can I buy the little retainer that the ashtray "muffin" sits in off of you?
michael nelson 07-01-2006, 02:31 PM Oh it was!!!
Click here for pics-:t -:t -:t (http://apps.rockyou.com/rockyou.swf?instanceid=30545264)that sucks, dude,I almost busted out a teer for ya,cause thats my exact interior:( ,I suppose insurance does not cover it?
duramaxdiesel 07-01-2006, 02:56 PM Is insurance gonna cover it?
JhnZ71 07-01-2006, 04:18 PM Just trade it for what you had, just maybe not white....
smucowboy 07-01-2006, 04:30 PM Are you the guy that left his sunroof open? If not, someone else on here is in the same boat......uhhhh no pun intended. Its going to be a while before you can get your hands on the new body style truck. Otherwise, AFAIK the 2007 classic is the exact same truck as the '06 so you might as well move onto the '06. If you are financing, you will get that 0% for 72 months deal for a few more days. Good Luck.
srode 07-01-2006, 05:09 PM So did the insurance total that? Hard to imagine it would cost more than book minus salvage value to replace the interior and electronics.
mgraveman 07-01-2006, 05:51 PM I agree - can you buy it back??!
I bet you could turn a good profit here, even if it's worth 4-5k as is.
Riccas 07-01-2006, 06:39 PM For many insurance companies as soon as they hear the phrase "water damage" they basically get the salvage title in the works
DangerousDuramax 07-01-2006, 06:51 PM What are the odds of getting the instrument cluster from ya?
Riccas 07-01-2006, 06:57 PM If you like that cluster you can get it from StylinConcepts.com for about $150
DangerousDuramax 07-01-2006, 07:05 PM If you like that cluster you can get it from StylinConcepts.com for about $150
THX
DangerousDuramax 07-01-2006, 07:11 PM If you like that cluster you can get it from StylinConcepts.com for about $150
I just checked and there's not one on that site for less than $400. Did you possibly get it somewhere else.
Puffer 07-01-2006, 07:14 PM My condolences ,:(

aaaahhhhh I see said the blind man. THX again, and sorry about your loss.
Jwsunset 07-02-2006, 12:18 AM So what all was ruined in the interior? I am guessing that the electronics were not working in the dash. Did the truck run? Just seems excessive to total the truck for the amount of water in the interior.
Jwsunset 07-02-2006, 12:19 AM Oh yea, just noticed that was my first post, been reading for a while just now posting. Whats going on guys.

BlkGMCDMax 07-02-2006, 12:58 AM Taht sux bro.. i left my winodws open in my s10 a few times.. but i guess having a sunroof makes it worse... i wish my truck had a sunroof... man the things i find out after ordering my truck.. ugh... when i ordered it i forgot what options i wanted and that was one of them.. lol .. eh well i still ove the truck and can do with out the sunroof:)
smujd 07-03-2006, 11:49 AM Sorry to hear about the truck. I would go with an '06, assuming you can find one with the options you want/need. There's been a lot of talk about how awful the '07 will be--I really have trouble believing that it will be the end of the world. I'm sure the '07 will be a great turck--if it's not, GM is in real trouble. That said, I love the LBZ and better safe than sorry.
Good luck.
Bill
jmswllms 07-03-2006, 02:11 PM Just curious...did you or the kids, leave them down?
Riccas 07-03-2006, 02:24 PM That would be me -:t
(... no kids yet)
smucowboy 07-03-2006, 02:30 PM So spill the beans, what are you gunna do? Getting an '06 or waiting for the '07?
Riccas 07-03-2006, 02:32 PM My girlfriend is up for the week so i won't get any real shopping time in for a few days. Keep yall posted though
