If I do not get my fuel filter changed by the DEALER beause its a recall, and later my injectors fail can they reject me since they didn't install the filter? Assuming the dual pleat filter will be on already, since my filters come from Eric.

I know I should just take it in and let them change it, but I don't really trust them. Even something as easy as a fuel filter.:( I already asked them if I can change it myself, but they will not give me the filter.

Just wondering about the injector warranty. Which hopefully I will never have to use!!:D

I let them do it for the reasons you state. Just giving them one less reason to deny injectors. Idiots did spill diesel all over and didnt cleanup. Cant win with dealers.

Take it in, 1 less reason for them to "not" fix if you have a injector go.

Does anyone know this as fact?

It's a big pain to disconnect everything for a fuel filter change. I run a Mega so I am not worried about clean fuel.

I went to my dealer and told them I had just changed the filter with the new style. They gave me a new one and filled out the recall as if they had done it. This way I am covered and they didn't touch the truck.

I can understand Using the same type filter, but not dening the right to sell you the filter. I would try a
web site(GM Parts Direct (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LaSvSIwaVEot4ADg1XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE2MGk4NzN uBGNvbG8DdwRsA1dTMQRwb3MDMgRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZANGNTYzX zc5/SIG=11smnjmbf/EXP=1151800072/**http%3a//www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm).com or get the # off the filter and do some homework to cross reff. the part... their are companes that offer a super large fuel filter system to bypass the standard one..

I think he was saying they would not give him the filter for free under the recall & let him install it. When you go to buy 1 from the parts dept they don't know if that recall has been done or not, they just give you the most current part #filter.
I would say no they would not deny warranty on the injectors but better safe than sorry, if you don't trust them take it somwhere else.
-Remember that recall expires on sept 30th '06 if not done before then say by by free filter!

Exactly! I already have the new design filter, and can buy them w/o any problems, I was just debating taking it to the dealer for the recall to save on one filter. I guess I might as well let them do it, I mean its only a fuel filter:rolleyes:

Thanks guys.
