Alright, I was pulling in to my driveway when i heard a knock noise from the engine. I pulled in and shut it off. Checked the oil and it was 2qt low. Now previously to this i was beating the Censored out of it in the mud. And it got pretty hot. 230 deg. i did let it cool down before i took off. but at the time there was no knock or at least i didnt hear it. but i wasnt listening for it either. it seems to be coming from driver side top end. so im thinking rod bearings. any other guesses? any way to know for sure what it is? My oil pressure at idle is now a little below 20 psi. If i do tear it down any sugg. on how to do it. like from down below or is it just easier to tear the top end down. Is there any bigger better options to go with than Oem bearings and pistons?
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

If it's your LB7 sounds more like injector leaking fuel into engine with that oil pressure.

My oil pressure at idle is now a little below 20 psi.
Just had all 8 injectors replaced on my LB7 this week. It had low oil pressure (20 psi) ,which is way down from normal idle (40psi),because of diesel fuel in the crankcase oil. It also had a knock ,rough idle and strong odor of raw fuel around it. This may be your problem.
:help:
It is the Lb7 with the problem. I went ahead and drain the oil after you guys talked about fuel leaking, just to see what i could find. Nothing popped up. Oil didnt smell. And i didnt see any fuel in the oil. Not saying it still couldnt be in there though. Any ideas on how to check injectors w/ out tech 2 or is it even possible? But i did notice that the oil pressure did raise to almost 30 psi at idle with new oil. Also i noticed about three days ago my truck started acting like it was starving for fuel. From a stand still i would put it to the floor and at low boost it would start spitting and spudering untill it got in to upper rpms. Does that make any sense to anyone?
Again, any help and input is appreciated! Cause its not making any real sense to me.
