I just traded in my 05 with 30,000 miles on it for a new 06 LBZ LT2 crew cab. The GM 0% financing deal made this new truck about $3000 less than my 05 so i couldn't go wrong. I just have some parts to remove before i pick up the new truck on saturday. And i have a tuff country lift kit on the way for it.
I'm not to familiar with the LBZ except for the power increase. but I know this forum will help a lot. I'll post up some pics when i get it.

I am debating the same thing. Just don't know if I want to give up my LB7!

Me too! I just traded my 2500HD LLY for the 3500 LBZ. (along with a hefty sum of cash - to be dispensed over the next six years).

anybody keeping their LLY's? THe LB7 has injector problems, the LLY runs hot. What, if any yet, are the problem(s) with the LBZ?

This is my first GM diesel and it is an LBZ. I can assure you that many of the previous overheating problems were from the Dex Cool. I have had it clog a 96 SS Impala, ans S-10 and a friends C5 Vette, I am lucky enough to have a new Vette and the FIRST thing I did was drain out the DEx and put in the Zerex version and I am soon to do it with the D'max.
I must ask this, on a 2500HD crew cab, do they all ride so stiff when empty? In honesty, the F250 was far more comfortable empty but just couldn't tow enough weight.

the 245 75 16 10 ply tires are most of the stiff ride. I went from those tires to a set of 305/70/16 8 ply. Mickey Thompson Baja Claws day and night difference. didnt realize how big a difference until I stuck the 245's on for a road trip.

I have had my LLY since 11/05 and have had no overheating problems (12k miles). I pull a toy hauler (16k pounds) in Texas heat at 75 mph and have never had temp above 210f. I love my truck and the only way I will trade it in is when the odometer hits 175k, it blows up or I decide to get a 5ver :ro) .

Well i hope GM got the Dmax right the 3rd time around. I never had any problems with my LLY with 30,000 miles, so hopedfullu the LBZ will be the same. I've been working all night removing the side steps, HID lights, MBRP front pipe and cat back exhaust from my LLY, and today will be bolting back up the stock unit. Pick up the new one on satruday.
I still feel kinds nervous installing my new tuff country 6" lift which i should have on wednesday to a brand new truck. I hope i'm not making an irreversable mistake.

Injectors have been an issue for the LB7's AND LLY's.

I wasn't aware of that. That's interesting.
I intend to rig up to 15k or so of hay next month and see how she runs in July heat. My father-in-law pulls up to 20k with a late 90's 350 Vortec 3500 single axle Chevy. I'd hate to see the ole 6.6 get hot after a few miles of small hills in hay country.
I suppose that will be the test for my LLY. Up till now I've only pulled around 3k on a weekly basis.
