: Power adders?

It appears that there are few power adders available for the LBZ, such as programmers, chips, propane systems, etc., since the motor is so new. I know that most of the programmer companies are working on this, but one thing I have never read much about for the Duramax is propane injection. Is anyone running such a system? Does anyone make an engineered kit to install LP? Why is there so little talk of this?

I think there are three reasons, 1. the LBZ is now rolling out of the factory bone stock with all the power most guys want.
2. although programmers do a lot of good things to the older dmax they also caused a lot of problems including burning up transmissions. 3. The dmax and Allision are very expensive to repair or replace and GM and Allision are tired of replacing stuff that has been broken by hot-rodders. They are now looking for any reason to deny warranty claims and void entire warranties. I have been reading this forum for 2 years and have been amazed at some of the incredibly stupid things guys do to their trucks.

Propane Injection System??? If you were to take your truck into a dealer for a warranty issue with a propane injection system on it, it would take GM about 2 seconds to void the warranty on your engine, tranny and drive train.

I guess there are guys here that are good mechanics who can fix what they break or have money and are not worried about stuff like that, but I am not one of them.

Just my 02!:) Rick

A well designed propane system increases fuel mileage and adds significant HP.

As long as you don't get crazy with it, it is a proven diesel performance enhancer on all trucks.

I would have to agree its hard to find aftermarket upgrades for the LBZ but, I would disagree putting a ethanol or propane injection on a truck. It seems that upgrading the exhaust, intake and adding a banks or edge etc. is close enough.:horsey:

No Banks or Edge for your LBZ trucks.

I have transmission safe PPE tuners in stock though. ;)

A little propane should keep the oil cleaner too.

Most propane systems are pretty simple.

I agree about the tranny issues.

The Edge and Banks are very safe tuners for a stock tranny and make the truck alot more fun to drive.

Yeah, I suck at the Interwebbythingy. I'll get it fixed up pronto.

Now if I can just find a listing in the ph book for a Mr. Pronto Web Service I'll be set! :D

I sell Pacific Performance Engineering (PPE) LBZ tuners. They are hand held downloaders that have built in trans protection. Fast and safe.

I have them in stock, and offer a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied.

They are hand held downloaders that have built in trans protection. Pat, do they actually back down the power if it slips, (like Edge), or is it a simple programed power down during the shift?

It defuels during shifts through programming, just like GM does, or like my EFILive tunes.

This is the best way to deal with it, because defueling AFTER the trans slips is not as effective and doing it before.
