Hey Guys,
I have an 04 Crew Cab that recently replaced my 02 Avalanche.
I have to say, the Avalanche is my favorite truck to date (#9), but I needed more power and a bigger bed.
I love my new DMAX, but the one thing I can't get over is the ride. I feel like I went from the nicest riding truck ever (Avy has coils and air ride) to a bouncy work truck.
I am considering replacing a couple of leaf springs with an airbag setup.
Has anyone here bagged their truck? How were the results? What kit did you use? Etc...
I've heard good things about bagging, but I don't have any personal experience.
Your feedback is appreciated.

I've never seen an air bag suspension setup suitable for loads our trucks are designed to handle. I've seen air bag BOOSTERS to help extreme loads, but not in lieu of a normal suspension. The ones you see on lowriders are not designed for weight carrying.
You bought a TRUCK that replaced a CAR. (<---Sorry! I dont like Avalanches)
What air pressure are you running in your tires?
A crew cab with a heavy Diesel should ride real nice.
I'd suggest adding Bilstien shocks as your first improvement to see if that helps.
Try adding your Year, Make, Model of your truck in your signature line. I'll help clarify what it is your actually driving.
Good luck!

You can get velvet ride shackles on the back, bilstein shocks, and some folks have removed one leaf spring from the rear on each side to get a softer ride.. It definitely won't haul as well but should ride much more car-like, FWIW.
There are a few companies that offer complete air ride systems to replace your steel springs, IIRC they start at $2k or so.

Put bilsteins on first - made a world of differance.
Added air bags - has improved the ride when towing a 5th wheel - will be making first two this weekend.

Got airbags made by firestone, made empty ride a little more bouncy in the back, but throw even 400lbs in the box and rides real smooth!

try here http://www.keldermanmfg.com/new_air_ride.htm
The two stage system is nice if you want a pillow ride but the 4-link is the ticket. Jeff is suppose to have a 4-link set up out for the 2500 series soon.
I will be four-linking the rear of mine very soon...........
Hope it helps

Have you checked into AirRide's HD set-up (ridetech.com)? I am going to put on one of their systems (basically a four-link with bags) this summer. They have a nice looking kit, but I will not install the c-notch kit that comes with it. I am not looking to lower my truck, just take the hideous bounce out of the ass-end.
