What do you guys think I should be able to get an 06 extended cab 4wd lt3 for? How much under sticker?

Hmm, not sure. I bought mine, which is a CC, for around $8-9k or so under what they were asking (LT3 with every option except slider). IIRC, MSRP was $50k or so (I think it might have actually been $48-49k plus additional dealer markup). I got it for $42k and change, plus $1000 rebate. I can dig through my invoices if you want to know specifics. They gave me $9500 for my 2000 Silverado 4.8L 4wd with 96k on the odo, which was right about what I expected. So, I think before tax, extended warranty and Line-X, it was just under $32k...

BTW, I used the GM Supplier Discount, which I thought was fair, so I didn't haggle at all. I just handed them the paper, and we went off of that. Supplier Discount was under invoice by a bit, but I can't remember how much.

Good luck!
-Jeff

One thing to watch out for, Chevy lowered MSRP on most of thier trucks. The dealers leave the old sticker on the truck though. Go to GMBuypower.com and find the truck at the dealer and check that sticker. You may find a $2k+ bonus.

The sticker on my 06 (LT1 Ext. Cab 4x4) was 40,500+ and I ended up getting it for around 34,600 with GMS and the rebate just about covered the sales tax and plate fees. I'm no good at negotiating so I didn't try to haggle much, plus I was working this out before work, but I am pretty satisfied with everything.

If you want to know for sure, the best thing to do is look up dealer invoice prices for the exact same truck, including all options, at edmunds.com or vehix.com.

If you look up the invoice prices, you'll find that most (but not all) options are the same as a percentage of MSRP. The invoice/MSRP ratio of the base prices varies somewhat depending on the trim level.

The invoice prices of most options used to be about 86% of MSRP (base prices were about 88%), but that changed when GM lowered the MSRPs early this year; the percentage is higher now, because they lowered the MSRP but not the invoice prices.

UPDATE:

I checked my pricing from last year, when the supplier price was a 12% discount off MSRP, and the employee price was a 15% discount off MSRP (Neither discount applies to the destination charge). In the spring of 2005, the "invoice" price was 87.5% of MSRP, and the "invoice" price of almost all options was 86% of MSRP. So in 2005, before the "new lower prices" the "invoice" price was fairly close to the same discount off MSRP for both the base price and options.

Starting with the new lower prices for 2006, the "invoice" price is 91.5% of MSRP and the "invoice" price on almost all options is about 83% of MSRP. The exceptions are the PDN Power Package and the LBZ engine by itself, invoice pricing for which are 76% of MSRP. These discounts do not apply to the destination charge.

Now that the "invoice" price for options is a much lower percentage of MSRP than the truck itself, applying a fixed percentage to the total cost with options may no longer be accurate because the total "invoice" price as a percentage of MSRP is more dependent on how many options the truck has.

You could build the same truck on the Vehix.com, which lists all the options with invoice prices to the penny, but isn't quite as convenient to uses as Edmunds.

According to Vehix pricing, the "dealer invoice price" of all options except the PDN Power Package is exactly 83.0% of MSRP (the PDN is 76.0% of MSRP). The base vehicle "invoice price" is 91.50% of MSRP. The $875 destination charge is not discounted.

There are currently the same factory incentives on 2500HDs & 3500s with the LBZ engine of at least $1,500 (there are additional limited incentives that only a few may qualify for: student, trades, etc.).

See post #17 in the thread "GMID 'Feeler'" at http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87968&page=2

The GMSD price should be on the invoice, and based on this example, the GMSD may be a little under the "dealer invoice price."
