Thanks to all contributors to this site as I finally found the nerve (please note signature) to gut my plenium this weekend.

There was at least a 3/8" build-up of soot and tar almost blocking two of the passages.

I used the pictures and detailed instructions and took a few pictures (sorry, guys I don't know how to download pictures to this site) of the proceedure myself.

I highly recommend that everyone consider gutting their own plenium if you have not done so already. This proceedure did clear up some of my blue smoke but I now have to find the instructions to install some gauges and then the manual waste gate override.

the gauges are an easy install, and the manual wastegate can be a cheap and easy mod for increasing boost. i do however recommend getting gauges before the turbo master though.
