I've been reading threads about Edge/*** "Low Boost Fueling" Settings while towing . Most say run at Level 1 or 2...some say level 5 is OK. Presently I run my Edge at 1/5 with low boost fueling set at level 5. Excuse my ignorance ,but will running Low Boost Fueling level at 1 or 2 help lower egt's and/or engine temps when going uphill? Laymans explanation would be appreciated. Toyhauler weighs about 10,000 lb loaded. ( BTW , installing Mike L. transcooler...hopefully this will also help lower engine temps a bit) Thanks

Towing I run 2/1. Pulling 35 foot fiver Tranny 195 to 200. Engine temp will go up to 225 but comes right down when fan engages
Figure it's better for the tranny. That's just a guess

low boost on 5 while towing won't really help much since all that does is give you a bit better throttle response and lot's of smoke and use more fuel.
How quickly can you accelerate with a large load?? you can't... the higher the setting the more smoke and the more response the throttle has. All this should be in the Edge manual as well.

Thanks, makes sense. Will running low boost on 1 "potentially" lower egt's when negotiating a long uphill grade???

My guess would be yes, how much lower, I have no idea. It would seem less fuel would lower EGT's. If anything it would smoke less when getting on it.

I doubt it would make any difference at all, after all it is "low boost fueling," which when towing and climbing a hill you shouldn't be at low boost.
