i just bought a new lbz curently have 900 miles on it and i was disapointed at first on the way home from the dealership. Not any more no complaints what so ever getting good fuel milage and tons of power. I do not notice a drone but i dont mind noisy things. Overall a great truck.

Trust me, you will be VERY impressed with the Duramax LBZ and the Allison 1000. I waited through the first two generations of Duramax (LLY and LB7). Once I drove the LBZ, I was totally in love and literally HAD to buy it. I've owned my new rig since Feburary and it has been absolutely perfect in every possible way; unbelieveable power, great fuel mileage and zero problems of any kind.

Considering the new 2007 Federal Diesel Emmision Restrictions, the 2006+ LBZ may possibly go down in history as the "Best of Breed" of diesel rigs.

Enjoy your test drive, my friend, and prepare to fall in lust.

One thing to look for is make sure the 8th digit in the VIN is a "D", this will get you the 360 HP motor. Their might be some of the earlier 06 with the 300hp(?) motors still around.

Also make sure the glow plug recall has been accomplished.

Had an LB7 and it was great, bought the LBZ and it's been great. The Fords don't even come close on performance and I'm a ex-Ford lover from way back. Better brakes, better performance and no quality problems yet.
