Most here may have a set of these on their trucks. Many are considering the options. I thought I'd post these pics I took to record the dimensions of the mirrors. In my opinion, these do not cut the mustard for my applications.

HTH, Nass...

Perpendicular to side glass measures 17" (16.5" effective)

Nice tulips!http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

I am not at all satisfied with my manual ext. camper mirrors either! I hope to install something I can really see out of one day.

Yea, they work really great on our 102" wide enclosed race trailers; can't see a darn thing behind me! A friend told me that in NY you may actually have to add another "extension" mirror onto this mirror to comply with NY law. Supposedly there is an area behind your trailer that you are supposed to be able to "see" in order to be in compliance; guess GM missed this one! And I know from experience that NY can be tough on light and brake issues and mirrors and are more than happy to give you a ticket for it.

NY is a bi#$% when it comes to those things... I used to live in WNY and know the drill too well. I have heard about some rule where you have to see someone that is standing ~50-100' behind the trailer. I don't remember the specifics, but there are some wierd regs.

The tulips/flower bed is one of the other hobbys for my Wife and I. The beds are really starting to come alive with the arrival of the spring T-storms.

Across the street is really a daycare. She sits for 5-8 kids during the week. At least when/if we have kids, there is a convienent second home if we need it!

Cut the mustard? Heck with these mirrors you could have an entire army behind you and never know it.

Well, I am glad I haven't put those on my truck yet, because I was going to get those... can anybody chime in and suggest a tow mirror that is functional?

I don't have them yet, but I'll be looking at a set next week and making my decision...

I think these are the only mirrors that will actually fit the bill. Others are close, but nothing like the F#$D mirror design, except the D(#$E mirror is really great too...

After much research, I just received a set of Schefenacker's TTT mirrors that I ordered last week—still in the box. I like those shown in the link that nassdmax posted. Geeze, it's like computers—as soon as you get the latest thing home, there's something better that's just come out. Oh well, I think these TTT's will work really well for me.

nassdmax,

How did you make out with those mirrors you were going to look at? If you find they are not what you thought they would be, you might want to consider the TTT's. Mine are on now and I am very pleased with the difference over the GM power extension mirrors. I can see everything with no blind spots. Can't wait to tow with them.

I am on a two week trip now towing the 30' TT, with the ones that you see in the pics. As soon as I return, I'll be asking again. The mirrors taht I mentioned are on back order due to popularity!
