Are there any drawbacks going with the stock setup when replacing the heater hose? (pipe, quickcup, etc)

What is the purpose of the pipe rather than hose? .....heat? Just wondering. If the metal is for heat in that area next to the turbo, will regular heater hose last if I were to use that instead?

only problem i found was the coolant tank hose and how close it sits to the turbo, ( it melted) so i grabbed some heat riser ducting for a old chevy 350 gasser engine and covered the new hose with it, so far temps don't go above coolant temperatures inside that ducting were the hose runs though.
