Is there anything to fill the empty hole on the dash, just below the power plug on the 04 Silverados ? I though I had read about a cup holder but I cant remember if that was for the 04 or not.

My wallet fits it there, if you send me your wallet full of cash and cards, I'll test it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifEdited by: dieselman

My "hole" is getting a bank of 20 mini switch-indicator pairs to control all the lights and toys. Was really glad to see that hole when I took delivery. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Freddyo I've done a little customizing to my console, and I'm looking at setting up a bank of switches like you desribed. Have you decided what you are using to do that? I've search for some and haven't found something that I like.

I couldn't find anything off-the-shelf that fit what I wanted. Nothing small enough for one thing. What I am doing is fabbing a panel beginning with aluminum. I am using matched micro switchs of various on-off combinations. The only leads to the panel will be two 18 conductor 22 AWG signal cables connected to various power sources and used to actuate relays mounted in boxes which I have fabbed and located elsewhere in the vehicle.

I am using a small colored LED lamps to indicate the switch condition. In addition to the 1/4" holes for the switches and lamps, I am also punching 1/4" x 1/2" holes and filling them with a lens. Sandwiched behind the face plate is a mylar film with labels for the switches. Behind the film is a 1/8" piece of clear acetate with holes punched to match the labels. Inserted in the acetate will be a number of incandescent lamps (powered by the dash light source) which will illuminate the labels.

Currenty I'm engaged in installing all of the stuff that those switches will control. When that's done I'll start the wiring. There will be pictures when its complete. If you are interested, I can provide additional infor regarding sources, etc.

My '02 only has one odd size 'hole' left of the guage panel and right of the driver's side vent. I know how to take the dash and panel apart but cannot figure out what to do with the space . . . http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
