I'm getting a 6" Tuff Country lift for my 05 2500 cc 4x4. I'd like to keep the tires tucked in as much as possible. I will be using them on sand and snow/ice in the winter. I'm looking to get 315's, but i'm not sure if i should get 16" or 17" rims. What do you guys run on you trucks with 6" lifts? Nothing larger than 315s thanks.

I run 305/70/17s. I wish i never got a 17" rim. The tire selection for "E" rated tires in 17" isnt good at all. I would run 18" if i could do it again

Too much loot.

What do you guys think about moto metals 951 16x9 with nitto terra grappler 315/75/16?

You may want to check, but I believe the 951 in a 16" has a 4" backspace. If so they will stick out quite a bit. Nice looking wheel though.

To much loot! Man you are talkin' alot of money with the lift anyway, save up and get at least 18's. I like the Terra Grapplers too.

Bobd,

It says 12mm offset, so it that going to stick out to far? does that come to a 4" backspace or 4.5?

I looked at 18s but they don't make the nitto terra grappler in a 35" tire that is 18" What other tire is close to it in quality that has a 315 height with an 18" diameter?

Is that a +12 or -12 offset? Also Nitto makes a 325/65/18 which is a 35.

The 315 part of the tire size is the width of the tread face in mm. The second number IE 60, 65, 70, 75 etc etc....is the height of the side wall in a percentage to the tread width. EG 325/65/18 is 325mm wide and 65% of that width is the side wall height.

ok, lets say i go with the Nitto Terra Grappler 325/65/18's. What kind of rim dimmensions should i look for that will keep them tucked in as much as possible. I believe tuff country says it needs to have a 4.5" backspacing, but not positive on that.

I've been looking online all weekend trying to pick rims sizes that may fit, but i can't decide, and i can''t tell what will fit or not.

Ryanu has 325/65/18 pro comps on his truck with no lift.
ABQfirefighter has the same size open countrys on his rig.

the 325/65/18 is only a little bigger than H2s and a ton of guys run them with no lift...prepare to crank and trim though....

The Moto Metal wheels I have seem to run fine and still have their shine. As far as tires, I haven't run Nittos but all of the BFG's I've owned wear like iron and handle really well.

Look in kbbingham's garage. I just spotted it. He has a 6" TC lift with 325/65/18's. Looks sweet.

Yeah kbbingham does have some nice 18's I just pm'ed him to ask what BS and offset those are and if he has any shots of the front track. Thats my real concern, just how far these or any 18's will make the front tires stick too far out.
