Has anyone had a problem with rust on there Banks stainless steel 4" exhaust?

I was under the truck today trying to determine where to put the air horns, and noticed that the exhaust is not just rusty, but it is to the point of flaking in a couple areas. After just two winters, it is worse then the factory exhaust is at the down pipe from the turbo. It looks as though it wouldn`t last 5 years.

I am not picking on Banks! I love the exhaust, as long as I don`t look at it. Does anyone with other brands of stainless steel after market exhaust notice rust?

I can produce pictures if needed!

Type 409 stainless will rust don't be fooled ....It will take a long long time to rust thru although ....If your getting flaking chances are it had "lamination" a very common occurrence in that grade .... You may be able to get a new V-clamp down pipe out of them as rust might accelerate in that region now that the surface has been impaired ...

Unless you get into a 300 series stainless (money more of) you SOOL ....
