Hooked it up this morning.

Gauge sits just about 200 off or key on . It has only went up one time to 300 and that's it. WOT it stays at 300 .......15 minutes of driving 300!

I know the wiring is all connected correctly ..........the only thing I know I didn't do (reading the instructions after the install  )........was to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery while installing.

Yall think that could have anything to do with it ?? I can't see how but I don't know a whole lot about this stuff !

I just got my z series gauges in last night and the pyro is a bit flakey. I noticed it while I was still trying to stuff everything into the gauge pod. If I wiggle the power/ground wires that go in to the gauge the needle jumps around. The thermocouple connections are all good and wiggling them has no effect. On this morning's drive the gauge got stuck at 400°. If I twist it or push on the pod hard enough it starts to work again. Kind of a bummer. I doing a road trip from Portland, OR to Montrose, CO and back next week towing an enclosed car trailer. Total weight of truck & trailer somewhere around 14,000 lbs. I wanted to watch the truck sweat via these gauges...Engineers love gauges:p: I'll have to deal with autometer when I get back.

Figured it out tonight !! Evidentally when we picked a 12v source for the pyro red/black wires we picked a hot wire for the auotmatic headlights. Gauge didn't work all day and tonight it worked like a charm !! Go figure................guess I have to tap another wire !! LOL
