Hey guys, I had the service engine light turn on for me these last few weeks and I just now was able to take the time to read the code. I got a code of 78 which according to the database is a Turbo wastegate solenoid fault. Since it sound like the solenoid is bad. Where can I get one and how much is it going to set mne back? Also, anything else I should be looking other than this?

Thanks.

$30 dealer item. I think Napa has em also. Other texas members may have a spare?

Check your vacuum hoses, and pump for proper output. WG solenoid is most likely problem, though.

Thanks for the info. Am I suffering any kind of power loss with this failure?

Possibly/intermittently.

Either you have a 78 because of low or high boost. If you have black smoke, then you are in the low boost zone. Correct this problem, and you may experience the power you never knew you had.

I do notice a little better response. I wish I had a load to test it though. I had this proble when I hauled my wife's minivan home on a U-Haul trailer and it seemed that the truck was having trouble pulling it. It did haul it but not as easy as I thought it would. I figure a Chrysler Town and Country with a U-haul trailer shouldn't be more than 6000lbs. I figured this should have been no problem for the truck but it felt like it was having trouble getting up to speed.
