Ok, We've decided to get the GMC 4500 over the M2 because of the huge price difference. I know the M2 will out perform the 4500 but, since I don't haul for a living, we can't justify the cost difference. I have found a new 2005 that is loaded with more than I need. The dealer says there is no difference between the 2005 and the 2006. Is this true?

there are not many differences, but in 06 you can get a 300 hp 605 ft lb torque motor over the 300 hp 500 ft torque 05. If i can help pm me i am a chevy dealer and stock some of these trucks or call me at 231-676-4521

Hmmm, we asked the dealer if there were any differences between the '05s and '06s and he said no! What do you have in stock and what conversion?

Are you sure the difference isn't just between the 3500 trucks?

605 ft/lbs but still an LLY right?? I was told by GM last year that the LBZ's were not scheduled for Kodiaks until '07. Was he BSing me?

I know the Sportchassis's have 860 ft/lbs torque and 320 standard hps, but why when I've pulled off the line and down the road with similar trailer are they not able to hang??? I do have edge, pipe, and over-sized jake brake; BUT REALLY!!!!

I'm quite happy with my 4500... and I'm surprised!!!

Dirty little secret is that Euros and Asian engine mfrs dyno test in colder air than SAE standard conditions. It can make up to 10% difference in advertised HP ratings.

My trailer is actually a Featherlite. But I can see how it would look like an Elite in the pictures.
