I am a new member and would like to say Hey to all. I am a contractor who has run gassers until now. I purchased 2 GMC van bodies. (1) 1997 14' GMC Savanna body 6.5 Turbo. and (1) 1995 Grumman 6.5 (non-turbo) I have questions on both and would appreciate any help I could get.

The 1997 had the turbo disconnected. It has Auto Trans and 140K on the odometer. It was a service truck and the company had problems with it shutting down on longer trips. It was diagnosed by a dealer with needing an injector pump. The truck is in great shape body and box wise so I picked it up for a 1000 bucks. I have put some cosmetic work into it and run it locally to jobs.

It has never crapped out on me during running on the road but when I start it cold it will run for about 3 minutes and cut out. I try to restart and it wont. If I drop the filter and drain and replace, it will fire up. I replaced the filter and it still behaves the same. This also happened after I ran it and shut it down then went to restart. Again I dropped the filter and it fired. I need to figure how to rconnect the turbo but the no start is my first issue. I will post a new thread on the 1995 Grumman. Any help will be appreciated

Hi sounds to me like you have an air leak in the fuel system. That lets the fuel drain back from the injection pump
