The wifes gonna put me in the doghouse soon now!! Finally went to the track Wednesday night for a Test-n-Tune night to get a time on paper and let me tell ya, the back pocket is gonna get a beatin'Censored . First run I pulled up around the water box and got staged. They had a slow bike that ran before me so the starting guy walked up to my truck cause I had the window down and told me to turn off my AC cause I was dripping water on the track and told I told him I did when we entered the gate. Must have had a little still left in the hose and condenser. Then when the bike finally made it off the track he told me to roll up my windows and stage. I made sure T/H was on and I was in 4high and rolled in the beams. I built up about 7-8lbs of boost and the lights dropped. I launched straight as an arrow and it felt strong but it layed down hard on the 3-4 shift. Mike L., I'm calling you soon, this is a stocker. I pulled around and grabbed my slip,

R/T .336
60 2.174
330 6.242
1/8 9.658
MPH 72.06
1000 12.60
1/4 15.119
MPH 89.17

This was with the Predator on 100, green keys turned down all the way but truck still level, 50psi front, 40psi rear, 33's, and new fuel and tranny filters. No codes thrown.

Now my second pass scared the hell out of me. I staged and I guess I got a little too nervous with the pedal cause I left @ 10-11lbs of boost and the truck bounced the front end hard, very hard. I thought for sure i broke something cause for a second it felt like it had no steering response what so ever. I got back in the throttle after making sure and ran a 16.2 @ 80mph. -:t Very disapointing. I let my brother in law make one more pass because they said they have never seen a truck launch that hard and smoke so much down the track and he was itchin' to see how it felt himself. He ran a 15.7 but forgot to engage the T/H:mad: and left at 5lbs.

My questions so far are why did it bounce, do I need to get the front end lower and clamp the rear or tractoin bar it, or did I just launch with too much boost? Do I need to get rid of the grips and run AT's or even Proxes'.

Next on the list is either TTS's PL III (patiently waiting)or EFI live and at least a SC III, and probably put her on the bottle too):h with some lift pumps. All this while remodeling the house in our first year of marriage:ro). :grd:

Oh yeah, I made some TR sleeves the day before so that base is covered and sorry for the long post but Censored it was fun.

Congrats on your first passes.

You hopped because you launched to hard. But to be on safe I would crank the t-bars all the way down.

Good job on the first time out. I let my brother drive the first time I went to the track, too. We both had a blast.

I am too scared to hop it up to the 100 hp tune... I have it on the 65. Unitl I get some transmission goodies, that is where it will stay. You might see high 14's once you get it all figured out cause my fastest time is 15.36... and that was launching in 2wd @ 1000 rpms. Oh and my truck is a pig in the weight department.

A little note on the A/C... If you don't turn it off a couple of hours before you get to the track it may still drip a little....;)

I felt exactly like you did the first time... found myself thinking of the other things I could do without in order to support my new addiction.:ro)

Squid: I wasn't scared to run the 100 hp tune, just scared when that SOB went right-left-right real hard real fast. Like I said I had made my sleeves the night before just wasn't sure if I hadn't broke something else. And I will make sure its off a few miles down the road next time, Thanx.

Kat: I have the green keys all the way down. I think I might put the stock keys back on just to race since I can turn them up to the hieght they are now. And I will not boost that high anymore.

Thanx everyone for the replies!! Just a Greenhorn trying to learn.

P.S. Bobo: I have that wig!!! I'll try NOT to dig up the pic from Halloween, Hillarious(sp). And when I get EFI I will PM you for some tunes SOON!!!

Does anyone know what a bone stock C2500 CC 2 wheel drive with an LBZ and 6 speen auto will run in the 1/4? Haven't been to the track in this truck yet. The 2002 C3500 2 wheel drive with the D/A ran a 17.22 stock but it went a 14.88 with Edge and attitude.

I think I've read before that the stock 4X LBZ's are running the low 16's stock.
