i have the stock cd/tape player in my 05 duramax and have had nothing but problems with the cd player not taking discs. just wondering if anyone else has had thi problem?

my cd player is noT working properly. it will not take the cd in half of the time and it sounds like it is off track when it doesn't take the cd. anyone else have these problems. i have had the radio replaced once by gm and it still does the same thing. it scratches my cds everytime it doesn't take the cd.

I'm having a similar problems. The disc is inserted, and then rejected and the "check disc" error message is displayed. It usually requires several attempts before the disc is accepted.

Sounds like the laser in the CD unit is out of adjustment. It can't "find" the start of the disc. Take it into the dealer and have them replace the radio. The old one has to go be repaired.

I had the same issue... Took it to the stealer and the "reprogrammed the radio", works now. This occurred after functioning for a year, said they had a TSB on it.

Never had the scratching thing though.
