Mine did that when the plastic trim cover over the back of the steering wheel-ignition lock got a little warped. dealer installed a new one, problem over.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

no, it was intermittent, you could feel the vibration when you heard the noise if you put your finger on it.

When you had this did you notice any vibration just drivin down the rd straight?. I noticed this morning a ever superslight vibration in the 9/3 position on the wheel at 50-60.at the top of the wheel i cant feel it... I didnt notice this right when i first got it, but maybe thats just because i was too much in love w/the truck.
edit---just got a call from dealer, a new power mirror is in, and told thembout the cover, and they are goin to check it out next thrus...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

PolarBear,

I had the same or similiar problem to what you describe.

I took it to Dealer & they greased the intermediate steering shaft. They said it was pretty common as GM tends to be a little skimpy on the grease. Mine had 1600 miles @ the time a couple weeks ago. They solved my problem with that.

Hope this helps, Two Dogshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Adam,

The trim shield is completely seperate from the airbag, so the answer is no.

They did have to remove the airbag & steering wheel to replace it.

Was just reading throught the manual, and found a work order from the previous owner. Seems he had the same problem"squeak in steering wheel" they ordered a new coil for steering wheel.. im going to point out the TSB for greasing the bearing...

dealer performed tsb.....all seemed well til last night...very slight sound turning left in my driveway....guess we will see, maybe it was just a fluke...

No fluke, doing it a at least a few times a day...tho its not as loud as before....Guess im going to have to deal w/it, as i cant have it sitting at the dealer again, if all im going to get is 1/2 assed....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif
