: Bigger Turbo, Injectors, Twin Cp3's HELP?
RacingJason 06-16-2006, 11:56 AM I'm wanting to do some work on 03 D-Max. New turbo, injectors, pumps,...the works. I still want to run in on the steet, but I "Want to Max It Out". What would you do? Who would you get to do the work? Don't want to spend over 10,000.00. Let me know what yaw....think!
C.A.P 06-16-2006, 12:44 PM better quit now ! $10,000 wont get that done as a trans is $4500 to $5000 after install, injectors will set ya back $2500 twin cp3 prolly $3500. lift pump $700(for a quality one) intake $350 , exhaust $700 for a good one , Turbo $2500 min to $5000(twins) sleeves and rods $200 , gages $350 , Ah and now the countless tunes you will buy to get what you want start at $1300 for a good EFI or ecm type tune . Better stick to cycling and camping it is much cheaper and less addicting .
ZR1160 06-16-2006, 12:55 PM Don't forget Headstuds $700, Billet Rods $3500(guessamint) Maifold$350 Electric fans $450$E-locker$800, If you want a full bore ATS extrem Trans you looking at closer to $7800 for the trans alone.
Try $20,000 you would have a good start on the parts only
Brayden 06-16-2006, 01:16 PM Ahhh the joys of being a supporting vendor :D
RacingJason 06-16-2006, 02:10 PM Take a look at my profile, I have everything, but Turbo, injectors, and cp3pump. I was looking more for what turbo, what injectors, who's cp3 pump, what lift pump ect. Thanks!
touchracing 06-16-2006, 02:24 PM Thanks for filling out your sig. It makes it a lot easier on us. Now for your truck. Your best bet to keep in the 10K range would be a BD charger, 20% injectors, lift pump of your choice, and a moonshine tune. It should run about 575hp and 1150tq and streetable.
ratlover 06-16-2006, 02:29 PM Thought about naaaaaaaaws? :D
RacingJason 06-16-2006, 05:43 PM Ok, Now.........no $$ limit. Forgit about the money. What now?
Brayden 06-16-2006, 05:52 PM Buy a dodge :D
Just kidding,
Twin CP3's Twin Turbo's, Rods, TopSecretHeadWork (you know who you are :D ), studs, pistons..
Yeah that would about do it.
DURAtotheMAX 06-16-2006, 05:58 PM pistons arent done yet.
afaik...
White Duramax 06-16-2006, 06:17 PM If you want pistons, call any that makes pistons and I'm sure they would do a one off set. You better have fat wallet though.
ZR1160 06-17-2006, 09:23 AM pistons arent done yet.
afaik...
I thought merchant had some made by Ross Pistons, and does't Steve have some too?

Check with IdahoCTD, i think he did a big honkin twin turbo and twin cp3 to Nastygirl's truck, also could get you some Don M injectors too. Some Carrilo rods and Ross pistons. Head's check with Merchant. If I had the disposable income for a spare truck thats where I'd be going...
dmaxalliTech 06-17-2006, 09:31 AM Ross Pistons are getting redone to fit... boo-boo on Ross's measurements I guess..
Nastygirls truck is still under way....but it will be truly bad a$$!
Lots of players coming in the Rod market from what I have heard/seen. First batches of CNC's heads are coming in first of week.
GMC-2002-Dmax 06-17-2006, 11:26 AM pistons arent done yet.
afaik...
I think you should get around more Ben..........
DURAtotheMAX 06-17-2006, 11:31 AM noo I knew they were in the process of being made, they just werent in production/being sold yet, thats why I said they werent done :)
KERMA 06-21-2006, 09:05 PM injectors will set ya back $2500
   Sounds kinda high to me...
ZR1160 06-22-2006, 07:11 AM    Sounds kinda high to me...
That depends if you buy just the tips, sending in yours, etc. and core charges have a lot to do with the cost.

Diesel Tech 06-22-2006, 11:43 AM One needs to be careful when it comes to getting pistons. There is not one aftermarket piston that is going to live for 100K. They will be great for racing but when it comes to day in and out driving I would not use them. If you want a good piston that will live for 100K use the factory LBZ parts, they are much stronger than any of the current aftermarket pieces. The factory pistons are oil cooled and have a reinforced compression ring and that's what makes them hold up to the extreme egt's that they see. The aftermarket pistons do not have these features and are not going to hold up under these conditions.

I agree 100%
RacingJason 06-29-2006, 11:55 AM Here's what I'm going to do. A5000 turbo, 80% over injectors, crower billet rods, new billet cam, Ats Dual cp3's, Ats's flywheel, Ats extream update on trans., update to co-poilt, 5" single stack 45 miter out bed, FASS 200 pump, Twin fuel filter kit, double valve springs, port heads, touch up valves and seats. Anything I'm missing? Let me know!

Sounds like you are on the right track. However I would seriously consider with those kinds of mods looking doing a little more research before going "BIG" on power. I have spent the last year doing so and have run into many hurtles on my quest for big power. As 1000 + RWHP trucks are now coming of age in the Diesel community they do not come without many concerns and issues. These are unchartered territories that have very little or no data to go on. There is alot of good info here on the place as the knowledge and experience of others is without end.
As far as your turbo selection.....IdahoCTD is the leading expert in the field IMO and would strongly suggest talking to him first before making your decision.
What exactly do you plan on doing with your truck? Daily driver, drag race, pulling? As the mods you do to your truck can effect your options in these areas.
In regards to my truck I am taking it to its limit this year and as Eric said it's going to be "Bad A$$":D

It would be a lot badder if you removed all the pimpmobile stuff you have on it. All you need now are the ghetto shocks in the front so you can make it bounce up and down while you cruise and the boom box is blasting! :D
Sorry Keith couldn't resist that.;) One other thing relative to this thread, is big power also kills input and output shafts. I have the new ATS bad a$$ tranny you are wanting to get, ATS says it's good to 1000hp, but the shafts are the same, also the same transfer case. Ask Clint from ATS about his T-Case last weekend at Indy. Big power is addicting, big power and a daily driver are probably not a very good combination. I would recommend the MITUSA lift pump but it mounts in the exact same place as the twin CP's.
It would be interesting to see what the tune would be to power that bad boy.:ro)

And the LED's flashing to the beat of the boom box off your hub caps?:D But sadly I'm afraid you are right. That should be a very strong truck. But remember, beware of old treacherous men who have nothing else to do with their money. Do I hear monster engine in Subman's future? :grd:

Jason what are your plans for this truck one you get it together? Drag racing, pulling or street bragging rights?
LBZ_YFZ 06-29-2006, 03:55 PM Took a ride in Clint's LBZ a couple of weeks ago, you are going to LOVE that tranny package!! That will be my next upgrade as well. Can't wait to find out how you like all that stuff.
RacingJason 06-29-2006, 05:51 PM Subman,
Yes; Pulling, Drag Racing, and All out street bragging rights! I want it to drive it everyday, and it be "Bad to the Bone". I have been pulling it and racing it too.
I just want to Max it out and keep in on the road.
Diesel Power 07-01-2006, 03:38 AM Jason,
Just make sure you are prepared to sacrafice a few small items to have all that power and drive it everyday.
RacingJason 07-01-2006, 11:15 AM Diesel Power,
What are you talking about? What, "sacrafice a few small items"! I want to know before I do this.
Thanks alot! Jason Smith
