I have a 2001 Chev 3500 Dually. The front wheel simulators (which I believe are aftermarket, make squeaking type noises most of the time. I had heard rumors about fixes involving velcro, etc. Anybody have any ideas? I appreciate all input. I am new to this so I apologize in advance if this has been previously discussed, but I didn't see it anywhere.
Thanks

I've got simulators on mine but no squeaking. Isn't interfering with a wheel weight is it? Must be some kind of stress on them? Sorry I can't help more.

Mine do the same thing. I've never found a fix other than keeping the window up. ;) Maybe you could post a picture of what your sims look like and maybe someone will have some ideas. I will do the same.

Mine did the same thing, but only on the fronts.
My sims don't have clips, but are held in place by the lug nuts. I noticed that the sims are slightly larger than the rims (about 1/16") . This causes the very outer edge of the sims to contact the lip of the tire in one or two spots. When that contact point rotates to the bottom (6 o'clock position) the tire flexes and rubs the sim, causing the squeaking noise. I marked the spots where the squeaks occured and took a wide-blade screwdriver and pried the sims away from the rubber. Problem solved! :)
The rears don't flex nearly as much which is why they don't squeak.

I have phoneix simulators that made noise. The fix is too clean the rim, then center simuator. Tighten the holding bolts EQUALLY, just a little tighter then hand tight. Over tightening and you will hear them squeak like a bad wheel bearing when the brakes are applied.

Hummmm! I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to give it a try (When I'm bored :D ).
I had the same problem with my 06 dually and i found that the left front rim edge stuck out farther in one spot. It was the same spot that the noise was coming when i moved the truck. I was going to take the tire off and grind down the area but i put duct tape on the inside of the simulater and the noise has been gone for the past 4,000 miles.

Duct tape solves everything! :D

Thanks to all who provided help. I located the areas of the simulator that stuck out past the rim. I carefully pried them out so contact wouldn't be made with the tire. This took a couple of rounds to make it look good as well as function properly. All weekend.....no noise!!!!! Everyone should give themselves a healthy pat on the back!!!! Thanks again...

mine also did that you have to make sure that the sim is centered or if the tire pressure is low the tire will touch and make the squeking noise
