Has anyone taken out their cupholder (2004) to clean it? I was pulling up on mine and it doesnt come out. Do screws under the console lid have to be removed to remove the cupholder?

If the console is unchanged ,the 01's pull out with a lil pry with a thin bladed screwdriver ...

Buckets with center console? If so, just pull.

Here is mine removed.

Yes, buckets with center console. I try pulling, it seems like it is glued in, or something is holding it in??? Thought I was going to break it last night, I was pulling pretty hard. Any thoughts?

I pull on the center post and kind of slide up the side. Hard to explain, easy to do. It is a very hard pull. Just pull, there is nothing you can break.

Yes the first time or two it is really, really tight; I noticed that if it is warmer outside the plastic is softer and will come out easier; you can then also file off a little of the mold's catches to make it go in and out in the future easier. Just grab on and pull hard just like your Duramax!

The first time just give it a good yank. After that it won't be too bad.
