I paid the extra for the 3" stacks from Monroe. Just wanted to express my thought about them.

1. They had to put a flex pipe in line since the stacks flex with the bed, and not with the frame. The pipe makes a corny whistling sound at high RPM. It's NOT the turbo either.

2. The flex pipe and all the elbows and other parts are clamped together. Every joint leaks. They should have been welded.

3. On cold startup, all the exaust comes out the passenger side stack. The driver's stack actually sucks air in. After it gets warm, 90% comes out the pass. stack. Bad design.

If anyone is considering ordering stacks from Monroe, don't. You can build your own exhaust that works for the same money. I am considering a single 5" stack instead. It is pretty corny when you black smoke it on the passenger side only. :duh:

Thanks for sharing this!! I was just getting ready to order their kit thisweek when I saw this. I called them and priced it last week. Guess I am going to have to find someone to make it for me. Wonder how you get by the need for the flex pipe??

I use flex pipe on all the 4 and 5" exh I work on. I also use stainless band clamps Never has it made any whistle nor do they leak. Sounds like a good ole case of a ****ty install. Dont use preformed clams us a streach to fit band clamp and you will have to tighten them with a impact to get a proper seal. Make sure you install the foil "joint" insert at the bolts or it will leak all the time.
