This weekend I finally got a chance to install some new parts for my 05 crew cab LLY I ordered a few weeks earlier. I installed the MBRP front pipe to go with the Cat-back system i got from them last summer. I installed Finger's stick and blocker plate, and tried out the Predator programmer on the 40hp tune. All of these mods you see on posts all over the Diesel place. They are the most common mods to do.
All i can say is what a difference they all made. The 40hp tune definatly gave it a good amount of power, but the Front pipe (Cat delete) was huge! The truck pulls so much harder and sooner, and the turbo whine is awesome. The looks i get by just giving it a little juice is so funny.
Anyway, just wanted to report on how these products worked out. I highly recommend them. The 65 HP tune will be installed after a few weeks.

When removing the stock front pipe, you need to unbold the two mouting bolts for the hanger it is hooked up too. They are bolted up to the transmission. Then it will easily slide forward and out.

I was trying to wrestle it out for like an hour, before reading up on it on here.

Sorry for my ignorance, but when you say front pipe are you referring to cat forward or turbo back. I didn't think our trucks had room for a turbo back or down pipe? I am a little confused with the front pipe. The mods you installed is exactly what I want to do to mine. Let me know how you like the predator with all the other mods, boost stick, etc.

Ickman The front pipe is the part of the exhaust system from the turbo downpipe back to where the Cat-back system starts. It basically is a straight pipe that replaces the cat. I only had the predator tune for a few days now, and its awesome. It will take a little while from the allison to learn the tune as it doesn't shift as smooth afteryou install the tune, but it will go away within a week or so as others here have mentioned.

Thanks for the info. Do like the boost stick and blocker plate with the predator? Let me know when you get some time and miles on it. Thanks

I don't think you need a boost stick with the newer Predator 2.02 version (it has added boost over the older version)!

A finger stick will just block the egr codes when you install a blocker plate, but you can disable the codes with the Predator "EGR off" function and not use a finger stick if you want....from what I have picked up anyway(I'll know for sure when I get mine done) !!

Is your old pipe back cat less or with cat? Is it any point to buy mbrp 4" when I have a stock cat less?

I guess you have an LB7 ? I think the MBRP is a half inch bigger diameter than stock (4" vs. 3.5").........but if it were me I'd just leave the stock pipe on !

Since "we" have LLY engines........they all have cat's .....so we have to get a new pipe to bypass the cat !

The "stock pipe" or just the front pipe?

How big is the stock exhaust on LLY? :)
