To all Cummins experts

What do you recommend for oil change Filters. I will go with one more Dino oil after 12,000 km oil change because I have not broken the engine in yet. I then plan to change to change to Synthetic at 24,000 km. I have decided to do the changes myself but I am not sure what filter to use.Edited by: Canadian_Frank

Feetgaurd Stratapore LF16035 Oil Filter.

For $84 you can get a kit from Genos Garage that includes 4 oil filters, 2 fuel filters and one air filter.

Designed for 30,000 miles.

Thanks.

I'll make sure to stay with what you recommended for oil/gas filters.

I put a Air raid temporarily. I am still contemplating the AEF full air conversion.

Is there a problem with using a Fram or Mobile 1 filter available at the local parts house?

People have said the Fram filters cannot take the pressure and come apart, block the oil jounals, and then it's rebuild time. I do not know about the Mobile 1 filters, I use either Napa gold or Fleetguard.

Use AC filters, and you'll have at least one good part on your truck.

Is this the correct P/N It comes up as the filter for a Dodge Cummins on all searches i do, and is not listed for a Duramax. Do they use the same filters?

This is the Dodge Cummins forum and the question was from a Dodge Cummins owner.

Use a Fram on the Dmax... at least you'll have one good part on ithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif

i am using the fleetguard stratapore filters on mine [fluted bottom oil filter]. i got my first batch from geno's but duty burned me coming across the border. i need to find a local supplier for them [need to see if cummins missassauga has them in smaller batches than 1 dozen like my local truck shop can sell them to me for, or find someone to split the case]
