Anyone ever try a clutch fan replacer ??
Perma cool # 24750
It removes the fan clutch and direct mounts the stock fan so its always turning. When its hot out i really cant see a downside. Maybe 1 mpg around town ??
I think my clutch is about done and this part is only 15.99 nothing else to replace ever.

get some earplugs to go with it. It's going to be noisy as hell.

Bad Idea. That item will have the same effect on your MPG as lowered air pressure in your tires. It also induces a constant drain on the available power to the wheels.

That is what would bother me.

More than 1 mpg loss....
Yeah fairly hard drain on power. I have heard different numbers up to 23 hp to run the fan (not sure at what rpm). Turn ac on and off and imagine that times 2 or 3. Heard once it took about 6hp to run ac (not sure if its wheel hp or crank hp). It will shorten life of serp belt, stress main pulley, and tax other accessories bearings.

Now would be a good time to go with the dual t-stat '97 coolant upgrade, adding the HO waterpump, and 11-blade fan with the improved fan clutch.
