I got a recall on my tailgate straps the other day. What is this for? Are they actuallt going to quit putting the cheap straps on our trucks?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

They are going to replace the galvinized cables with stainless steel ones. 2004 trucks that were built after 10/03 already have the SS, according to GM.

Yeah, I got a kick out of the recall notice: Please don't use your truck tailgate by putting anything heavy on it until you get your new straps. We're not exactly sure when we'll have the replacements. Yeah right, you bought a truck and you're not allowed to use it like a truck; maybe they'll make my payments until I get new straps???


I'd love to see a law suit where someone uses their truck as a truck, gets injured and GM says, we told you not to put anything heavy on the tailgate, so we're not responsible.
