Good day
I have a 04 LB7 and bought an after market warranty which requires me to have oil changes on schedule at a licenced facility---I normally DIY for quality control.
Of course the licenced facility is short of QC and overfilled by one quart......engine doesn't consume or leak oil........is it ok one quart over or should it be drained?
Thx for your help.

Go back and have them drain it. One quart overfull can cause oil foaming and aeration, and eventually damage in the worst case. They should know better than that.

+1
have them drain and fill it again,
there ***** up,
there responsibility to fix.
they shouldn't have let you leave like that,
overfilling oil can cause "Crank Wash"
meaning your (Engine) crank could be dipping into the pool of oil in the oil pan,
this will cause more resistance (like dragging your hand thru water)
as well as the airation of the oil (foaming)
good luck

I don't know which company you went with for warranty, but I talked to a couple and they told me that I could do my own oil changes as long as I had receipts for the oil and wrote it down in my owner's manual. I agree with everyone here though, have them drain the quart out....I wouldn't want to have that ruin the engine even though it should vent it out, but that would make a huge mess.

Thx for the replies....looks unaminous...I've driven a few hundred miles on it and have no oil blown out the dipstick or anything...I'm in Canada......it's a Lubrico warranty....they protect themselves by insisting on licenced facility oil changes and the usual fluid checks and so on that usually go with an oil change...likely has a very positive influence on their claims experience...in most cases .
