ok...ive read lots of threads,incl. the off-road tech article on T bars,bilstein shocks,green keys etc....heres my sceneraio

t bars cranked 1.5 inches on stock keys....285/75/16x8 yokos....stock shocks and severly rough ride!!! it seems the cheapest way to fix the rough ride is to put in shock spacers(washers) and keep everything else stock.i like the look of the truck now ,it is level ,just need to improve the ride.im not going to turn my t bars down so i may as well return my stock shock to the OEM SETTING with spacers. what do you think?

My first question is did you have the front end aligned after turning them up?

yes, alignment done.everything trimmed to make tires fit.the dilemma is that some say bilstein shocks improve the ride, some say no.the stock ride was fine and i just want to get it back. thank you.

Just put on a set of bilsteins with spacers. Truck rides like a dream compared to stock. 45000 on stock shocks and they were wasted. Probably should have been changed 20000 earlier.

The new shocks and spacers won't fix the harsh ride. Mine firmed it up over small bumps, but did help with nose diving and large bumps. My ride was smooth before i put the bisteins on. My tbars are maxed out. Back them out a couple of turns and see how it rides.

what type of spacer are you using for the shock?

well if i turn the t bars out i will have to get another alignment and do some more trimming under the wheel wells.i put the 285/75's on today and that softened the ride a little bit.i had the stock tires on yesterday when the t bars were cranked and the alignment was done and it seems the new tires did soften the ride today, but i could definately be better.how much are the bilsteins in $can.?

It might only take two turns to soften them up, and you won't need an alignment for that. You can always go back to where you were with the alignment. I'm sorry to say this, but the shocks will not fix your problem.

There is really no way to improve the ride completly back to stock. Turning the t-bars will make the ride rough, the more you turn the bar, the rougher the ride gets. The bilsteins, and/or shock spacers, will help a little bit, but it won't be as good as stock was.

I'll retract my statement a little. If you're talking about bad ride over small bumps, you shouldn't look for any improvement in new shocks. However, if you're talking about nose diving in the front end or the rear end bounce over large bumps are relatively high speeds, the new shocks will provide more control.
