hello everyone had a couple of questions.

1. is 2000 rpms @ 65 mph normal? (3.73 gears)

2. if the allison is a 5 speed why does it only show D321?

2. It only shows D321 because GM was too cheap to make a new shifter that shows D4321. On 03-05 trucks they made the T/H button disable OD. I'm not sure how to do it but you can retrofit the OD lockout to 01-02 trucks.

why would I want to lock out OD? T/H mode will lock it out of OD if it feels it needs it right?

It gives you control to stay out of OD. Tow haul will eventually shift to fifth. ODLO will hold 4th well past the 5th upshift point in normal/tow haul mode.

but its only on the data bus 2 truck so an 03 and up i think.

So that means that in my 01 I can't turn off the OD?

It's safe to tow in OD as long as the tow/haul mode is on?

It's not like my 1500 that towing in OD will overheat the trans and destroy it, correct?

yeah im sorry i messed up ODLO is on all truck but its on the stick on 03 and up 02 01 00 it can be added just click the linkin my sig an he has the kit i think

So I can not turn off the OD, so how do tow? when towing a trailer of any size & weight do I just hit the Tow/Haul mode?

Another question, if the truck is 5 spd and the shifter shows 4 spd which gear selection is which? is D(od)-3(4th)-2(3rd)-1(2nd)?

If you want to be able to disable overdrive go to http://www.kennedydiesel.com, click on tech tips from the 3 buttons on the top of the website, click the duramax tips and click on overdrive lockout mod.

Unless your truck has already been converted you can't disable your overdive. When you put your shifer in D you are in 5th, 3 is 3rd, 2 is 2nd and 1 is 1st.

So when towing just hit the how haul mode since I can not manually get out of OD.

How heavy do you think I should tow before I get the ODLO done?
