I have the on star and bose system in my truck, what i want to do is put a new radio in and bypass the bose and on star. has anyone done this yet? my dealer said if i don't get the right wiring harness the computer at the dealership won't read the computer in my truck. has anyone ever heard of this? if so what parts do i need to do this?

No never heard of dealer not being able to read the ECM ...Now I could see On-star having a problem diagnosing although ...

I replaced my stock radio with a Sony bypassing the OnStar with no problems. I think the dealer was leading you on....

wasn't it said or posted that if you go with a after market radio you dont have to worry about losing anything on the pre '03 models???
